The Xbox 360 enjoyed its 13th straight month of beating YTD sales, having a 14.4% sales increase comparing January 2010 and January 2011. The Wii, while coming in second, had a precipitious drop of over 30% in sales comparing January 2010 and January 2011. The PlayStation 3 came in third, extending its long streak of third place finishes, showing 3% worse sales compared to January 2010.
Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Black Ops came in first again, a role it had not relinquished since its debut. The console sales, unfortunately, do not show consumer sales, and only lists the place in which each game came in.
