If true then that's about 13 percent of EA's market cap and yet another step in securing the casual and social game arena, especially for mobile platforms.
EA are no strangers to buying up casual development outfits as in 2009 they bought Playfish for around $400 million. Acquiring PopCap would be a huge boon to their casual catalogue of games but also give them a much needed edge in the iOS market.
PopCap titles include the likes of Bejeweled and Plants vs. Zombies. The PopCap Games logo already looks a little like the one for EA... what a coincidence.
