One of the most hyped games for the Wii was House of the Dead: Overkill, a mature rail shooter featuring grindhouse action and dialog, mimicking the genre films by Robert Rodriguez. Like the other attempts to bring “hardcore” games to the Wii, it failed miserably.
Sega is bringing the game back with an “Extended Cut”, this time releasing it on the PlayStation 3, with full Move and 3D support. The game will feature two additional levels.
Sega’s Gary Knight gushed in the press release, ”The House of the Dead: OVERKILL – Extended Cut for the PlayStation 3 system will send players to the shrieking mad heart of mutant mayhem. This time we went further, faster and bloodier than before. We extended everything, even the title.”
It’ll be interesting to see how well the title does on a system more geared to the hardcore gamer. Check out the trailer below.
