Tropico 4 once again has the player playing El Presidente, the dictator of Tropico, and the player may play the leader as a vicious tyrant or a benevolent leader, aligning the country with whichever country best represents the island’s interests. Players may make the island an industrial wasteland or a tropical resort, supporting or rejecting religion, making the army more or less influential, and so on.
