The bad news continues, although THQ hasn’t announced anything yet, but industry fundraiser and head of IGDA Mobile SIG Kevin Dent says that the troubled publisher will probably announce 170 layoffs at some point today.
”This is probably going to break in the morning, I have sat on it for a week or so. The culling at THQ was 170+ souls including Mark DeLoura,” said Dent on Twitter, in a conversation with THQ’s vice president of technology Mark DeLoura.
Yesterday it was revealed that THQ had 180 days to get shares back over $1 each, else the company would be taken off the NASDAQ register.
Our fear is that things will only get worse for THQ before they get better, but will the firm be able to make a difference before it’s too late? Time will tell, but there’s some strong IPs within THQ that offer hope.
