According to CEO John Riccitiello, ”The game sector is in a volatile period of change and transition–awaiting new catalysts for even more rapid growth. Since the San Francisco Giants won the World Series, I’ll use a baseball analogy: EA doesn’t win every inning, but we put a lot of runs on the scoreboard and we expect to finish the season at the top of the standings and to continue to do so for years to come.”
EA had discussed in the same call the lower than expected sales of Medal of Honor: Warfighter and criticized the low review scores that the game had been getting. They plan to ride the Warfighter horst through the holidays with the tie-in DLC to Sony’s Zero Dark Thirty film.
Industry analyst Michael Pachter, however, thinks Warfighter is a detriment to EA’s competition with Activision.
