Batman: Arkham City has helped Warner Bros. Interactive to record profits, alongside the LEGO licensed titles and Mortal Kombat reboot. Arkham City shipped over 6M units over three platforms.
According to Time Warner’s full-year 2011 financial report, the company’s Filmed Entertainment business, of which Warnes Bros. Interactive is a part, saw revenues rise 9 percent to $12.6 billion during its fiscal year ended 31st December, 2011. The report stated that the company benefited from a strong release slate over the period, thanks to the aforementioned IPs.
Batman: Arkham City was the seventh best selling games for US retailers in 2011, while it was the most-requested title for the popular videogame rental service GameFly, ahead of the all-time best selling shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
