Actor Michael Fassbender has been pegged to star and co-produce the movie adaptation of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed. Fassbender appeared in X-Men: First Class, Shame, Haywire, and Prometheus.
This will be Fassbender’s latest collaboration with Conor McCaughan, with whom he produced the short film Pitch Black Heist.
According to UbiSoft CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet, ”Michael Fassbender was our first choice” to play Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad, ”Michael is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor.”
Back in October, Ubisoft had been in discussions with Sony about making an Assassin’s Creed film series, but those negotiations were put on hold. Rather, the company invested in launching UMP as a way for the videogame publisher to self-produce films, shows and digital projects.
