Suppose you’re in the mood for yet another fantasy 4X strategy game with a colorful setting and proper expertise behind it. In that case, you may want to look into Atre: Dominance Wars’ call for playtesters.
Developer and publisher Ironward (The Red Solstice) has released a new gameplay trailer targeted at 4X veterans and curious strategy gamers who’d like to help get the game into shape ahead of its launch later this year. Watch it below:
Those interested can head now to the game’s Steam page and register their interest in participating in the upcoming tests. It’s unclear when and how these will happen, but the devs are saying they’re targeting the polishing stage of the game’s development as we speak.
Besides familiar 4X elements and asymmetrical fantasy factions (like the ones found in Endless Legend 2), Atre: Dominance Wars will feature “a twist of God-Game elements.” In fact, the game’s more in-depth and unique system might be this one. Here’s what Atre’s official description says about the planned god-like twist:
“As an Elder, research spells and gain a diverse set of powers - from spreading prosperity to bringing total annihilation. The most powerful Elders can ascend to Godhood and open the Gate between worlds. During this period you are granted absolute power and magic that can destroy the land itself, but… this power comes with a price, and the Gate between worlds stays open for powerful entities from the other side…”
