Last week the publisher announced PES 2013 would release one week ahead of rival FIFA 13. Previously the PES team have lamented the ‘unfair bias’ they suffer against EA’s franchise.
Whereas ‘FIFA could do no wrong’, PES had to endure endless criticism despite their rival featuring the same ‘negatives’. Konami are hopeful this will level the field.
”This is the year where press is openly talking about PES being back to its best… This is feeding through to retail that PES is a true title contender, so we are confident this is a new beginning for the series,” Brian Ayers told MCV.
”We think PES 2013 is going to be in it for the long-haul, especially in terms of the ‘total lifetime’ sales as recommendations are passed on as people play the game.” PES 2013 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC September 21st.
