In a tweet, Broussard warned, ”EA bought PopCap a year ago for a billion dollars. Sources say shakeup and layoff’s are imminent at PopCap. “
He then warned that Electronic Arts’ corporate environment would doom the developer. “I think PopCap will struggle to be successful in an EA world that demands more products, squeezing IP dry and less dev time,” he posted in a later tweet.
There have been no rumblings of layoffs at Popcap, however. Broussard’s tweets could be conjecture, and at the time of Popcap’s acquisition, EA stressed that Popcap would be left to its own devices.
