A few weeks ago, Twisted Metal creator David Jaffe expressed hope that the PlayStation 3 reboot of the game wouldn\'t require an online pass. However, the demolition derby racer will indeed feature one after all.
Jaffe stated in an interview last December regarding an online pass that would force gamers who bought used copies to pay to play online, \"It\'s not my call and I\'d totally understand if Sony as a company said \'Look, this is a mandate that permeates all of our titles. We\'re not making selective choices\'. Those are decisions that I\'m no longer privy to as I don\'t work for Sony any more.\"
However, at CES \'12, Twisted Metal QA lead Justin Trease confirmed there would be an online pass, simply stating \"Yes,\" when asked.
In other news, Twisted Metal has gone gold. The game is due to be released on the PlayStation 3 on 14th February in North America, the 17th everywhere else.
