Despite the bugginess of Guild Wars 2's launch, the Headstart pre-order bonus has paid off for developer ArenaNet, who has reported that over 1M users elected to engage in pre-release fun.
According to ArenaNet co-founder Mike O'Brien, "This is the culmination of a 5-year journey and to be greeted by this level of enthusiasm by our fans is truly amazing. But really our work is just beginning. Now our focus is shifting to building on this living world we've delivered, continuously refining our game and improving services to ensure our players have the best possible experience."
Guild Wars 2 also enjoyed 400,000 concurrent users during the Headstart.
The game has now been released to retail and digitally. Keep an eye out for Strategy Informer's upcoming review.
