It’s floating a €149.99/£129.99 tag in Europe and the UK. NCSoft point the finger of blame to ”currency fluctuations,” as well as costs to distribute, government hungry taxes and market forces.
All-in-all it’s not NCSoft’s fault they’ll be raking in more cash from us Europeans - honest! The $149.99 is worth around £95/€115 through direct exchange rate conversion.
”Currency fluctuations, distribution costs, taxes and market conditions in addition to the cost of goods are all contributing factors when setting pricing. These vary dramatically between NA and EU and our pricing is competitive and adjusted accordingly,” stated NCSoft, happy to expose the real culprits behind the CE price gouging.
If the Collector’s Editions are manufactured in the US then sure, it will cost NCSoft more to have them sold across the Atlantic but do they warrant the significantly higher price tags we’ve been given? The CE bundle includes a making-of book, a 10” figurine, soundtrack, artwork as well as in-game digital items and access to the Guild Wars 2 beta.
