Producer Charles Roven has announced that the planned World of Warcraft movie will begin shooting early next year, with Source Code’s Duncan Jones directing the project. Details remain under wraps.
The game-to-film has suffered plenty of setbacks but looks like it finally has a chance at getting on the silver screen. It’s believed a 2015 theatrical release is the most likely.
”First quarter 2014 we’re going to shoot that movie,” Roven told SlashFilm. “We’re moving forward; obviously Legendary is making that film and I’m having a great time with Duncan.”
Next year’s Comic Con could maybe hold some teasers for the Warcraft flick. For all this time spent handwringing over Hollywood taking a crack at the Warcraft universe, Blizzard could have just taken a bash at it themselves, no?
