A significant change for their beta program this time around is that you can sign up ”directly through your Xbox 360 console”, instead of having to mess around with websites. NDA awaits you.
They don’t want any blabbermouths about specifics in the dashboard beta, so a non-disclosure agreement will have to be signed in blood, or ‘agreed to’ - whatever.
”Unlike our previous beta programs, sign up is now accessed directly through your Xbox 360 console to streamline the experience,” said Major Nelson. ”Space is limited, so once the spots are filled the beta will be closed to the public.”
The Xbox Beta Program is available through a tile on the home hub of the dashboard.
What improvements await in this beta? Well there’s the promise of overall performance enhancements, but also the very gratifying sight of actual real world currency being used as Microsoft dropkicks their Microsoft Points fake not-so-fun money; instead items through Xbox Live will be charged in local currency.
Microsoft will be posting a Beta FAQ later today.
