There was good revenue from mobile and browser sources, with continued growth for their amusement business. They did however post a loss of ¥1.6bn for "review on work-in-progress games".
That loss was an unusual one born of unique circumstances, says the publisher. The cost was instigated by Square as they looked over all projects across the board.
"In response to the latest environmental changes in the game industry, the Group has implemented a change in its development policy, and conducted a comprehensive review on work-in-progress game titles for the three-month period ended June 30, 2013," details the fiscal report from Square Enix.
Projections remain the same for the company which is expected to lie between ¥3.5-6bn profit by the end of this fiscal.
