Sony’s Brian Silva confirmed publicly what was suspected at IndieCade in Los Angeles: Sony pays studios to put their games in PlayStation Plus deals.
In an August interview, Futurlab’s Kirsty Rigden told Games Industry Biz “They come to you with a deal. They say, we’ll give you this much money if we can have the game for free, or exclusive, or money off, or a combination. There are a lot of different ways you can do it. The amount of money that they’ll suggest will be relevant to the package.”
Sony earlier refused to confirm this; thiis was the first time Sony admitted to paying developers in PSN Plus deals.
