However, today Epic founder Tim Sweeney has closed Impossible Games, announcing, ”When former members of Big Huge Games approached Epic last year, we saw the opportunity to help a great group of people while putting them to work on a project that needed a team. It was a bold initiative and the Impossible folks made a gallant effort, but ultimately it wasn’t working out for Epic.”
The team was given the assigmment of finishing the iOS Unreal Engine 3 fighting game Infinity Blade: Dungeons, but now that project is on hold indefinitely.
At the least, employees of Impossible will get three month’s severance, and will be allowed to reform the studio under the same name.
