Microsoft has unveiled its new console, and the name of the machine is completely unexpected: instead of Xbox Next, Xbox Infinity, and so on, the console is titled the Xbox One.
The company will be “connected” to the entire living room - the console can be voice activated with an “Xbox On”, and will recognize the user immediately. Presumably, this will be in conjunction with Kinect.
The Xbox One will also stream live television, removing the need to have to switch from the console to the cable box. Gamers will be able to switch between games, television, internet and movie through voice command. Even better, “Snap Mode” will offer Picture in Picture. Skype will also be supported as well, allowing gamers to talk to friends on Skype while playing a game or watch a movie.
The Xbox One will also include cloud saving, USB 3.0, Blu-Ray drive, and 8 GB RAM. With the inclusion of a Blu-Ray, gamers can expect a lot of game installs, thanks to its CLV.
The new Xbox One controller promises integrated battery charge and, most importantly, a better D-pad.
