It's combat and magic system was built specifically for an "emergent spell-casting experience". We play as 'Dragon', a champion for an immortal mage called Roth.
We're actually mortal but get the gift of some spiffy bracers letting us wield powerful magic. We'll be hunting down cultists, breaking the shackles of humanity and such.
"The Dragon is a mortal gifted with powerful magic, a living weapon aimed against the forces that seek to corrupt and enslave humanity, but he or she is “glass cannon.” The magic system empowers players with the ability to tailor crafted spells that complement their chosen play styles," reads the website.
"Collecting, rebuilding, and ultimately mastering a chosen play-style is required if the player is to purge the world of the evil cultists that cost the Dragon their family and nearly their life."
"Magic is pervasive in this world but widely trusted because it is a power balanced precariously between the Heavens and the hell known as the Abyss. Crafting and casting magic is risky and requires thought. The Dragon must explore the world and discover the resources and knowledge necessary to unlock the full potential of this power if he or she is to succeed as the true redeemer of this world."
