Sledgehammer Games’ first entry in the Call of Duty series is coming November 11 this year. It’s called Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and there’s a two-minute trailer out now.
Expect a near-future setting, with mech-suits, drones, power jumps and Kevin Spacey being awesome.
Spacey’s role in the game is apparently the head of a private military corporation. I would guess, from his grandiose speechifying, that he’s the bad guy. We already had an idea the game would be about PMCs thanks to this video released yesterday. Here’s the blurb from the trailer.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare envisions battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactic have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise.
The futuristic setting promises an array of interesting gadgets; in the video we see jetbikes, portable shields, deployable drones, powered climbing gloves and a cloaking device.
No official mention of platform availability yet, but expect it to hit PC and next-gen consoles this November.
