Good news for those wondering what NetherRealm’s next entry in its long-running gory brawler franchise looks like in action, here’s your chance to check out six minutes of Mortal Kombat X gameplay.
This is from a livestream recorded at PAX Prime over the weekend. Rather than show off the new guys on the way to Mortal Kombat’s roster, it features your classic MK line-up - Sub-Zero, Skorpion, Raiden and Kano.
Shouldn’t these guys all be dead by now? I mean, if nobody ever dies you should probably change the tournament to ‘Ultimately Harmless Kombat’, Shao Kahn old buddy. Oh, wait. I just got to the Fatality part of the video, never mind. In all honesty I’ve always found the series’ adolescent glee when it comes to ludicrous violence a little tiresome, but there you go. It ain’t going nowhere and it ain’t gonna change.
Whatever you think about its torrential spurts of claret, MKX is certainly looking rather nice. It’s set for release on PC and consoles in early 2015.
