YEI TEchnology will demonstrate their gaming exoskeleton PrioVR at this year’s CES show, partnering with Oculus Rift to demonstrate a full-body gaming experience.
YEI first showed the PrioVR suit off in 2012, in footage that looks absolutely nothing like a next-gen version of Star Wars Kid.
PrioVR comes in two forms. The half-body device tracks player movements from the head, elbows and wrists, with additional gaming controls in the player’s hands. A more expensive full-body version with enhanced movement tracking is also available. At CES we’ll see it as a full-body experience with the addition of the Oculus Rift headset.
At the moment PrioVR is planned as a PC device, with console versions a future possibility. The half-body edition will be priced at $270, with the full-body version expected to retail for around $400.
YEI’s first Kickstarter failed to achieve a $113,000 goal, but a new one is planned for February, with a reduced target.
