The composer for Wreck-It Ralph - Hollywood’s love letter to video games - has said that writing has begun on a sequel. Henry Jackman called it ”fantastically imaginative” and so isn’t surprised it’s getting another.
Wreck-It Ralph was full of video game quirks and notable heroes and villains, and it performed well at the US box office as well as internationally with $189m and $281m respectively.
”I can’t tell you more, not because I’m being coy, but I believe that it is officially on the cards. I don’t know any more other than a story is indeed being written,” composer Jackman said.
”Just the movie itself I thought was a fantastically imaginative and creative piece of work.” It focuses on Ralph who’s tired of being the ‘bad guy’ in his game and wants to try and be the hero for once with dire consequences for his own game that he abandons. It’s the Toy Story equivalent for video games. Jackman was speaking with Collider in an interview.
”I haven’t yet done a sequel. I think Wreck-It Ralph 2 might be the first one,” he added.
Should we give Wreck-It Ralph more lives?
