The sequel to Tripwire’s co-op shooter Killing Floor has been revealed by the developer, and it’s apparently coming to Steam and Early Access ‘much sooner than we’d expect’ it would. It’ll also support Steam Workshop.
A big emphasis for the team this time is the endgame, which is ”much more entertaining and has a lot more replay value,” promises Tripwire president John Gibson. No release date yet.
The shooter’s gore system is getting special attention where mutants can reportedly be dismembered across 19 different points, with motion captured animations for everything.
Killing Floor has almost cleared 2.5 million copies with the original still popular online today. Killing Floor 2 introduces a new extended level cap and a perks system to help keep player progression fun with greater choices in specialisation. ”A big goal for us this time around is to make sure the endgame, playing the game for a long time, is much more entertaining and has a lot more replay value,” said Tripwire’s John Gibson.
Mod support isn’t being skimped on with Steam Workshop fully integrated. It’s coming to PC through Steam and SteamOS this year, and it’ll be ‘a lot sooner than we’d expect’ according to the studio.
