According to a BBC report, Valve is set to launch a standardised development kit allowing developers to create an interface for VR controllers.
Valve designer Brian Coomer is quoted as saying the company is ”days away” from releasing the VR software development kit. Said kit will be part of a larger set of tools designed for developer to use when creating titles for Valve’s third party Steam Machines and PC.
”There’s also technology in development at Valve based around head-tracking and headset manufacture and design,” he said.”We are working with other companies right now but we have not made any specific announcements.”
The kit will apparently be launched at Steam’s January 14-15 Dev Day conference.
