Youtube user Westie and VG247 have teamed up to capture a bucketload of new Far Cry 4 footage, including a first glimpse of the game’s co-op modes and a look at weapon customisation.
There’s also a look at Kyrat’s native wildlife, and how best to harvest their organs. It starts off with a man being attacked by a rhinoceros, and gets steadily crazier from there on in.
Co-op is much as Ubisoft described it, two payers running about causing as much chaos as possible. No co-op missions, remember, but you can take out outposts and wander around the open world. And one of you can go mental on an elephant - that’s not a sentence I’ve ever written before.
Hunting is slightly different. Yous till need animal skins and so on to craft new items, but you can no longer launch a rocket at a bear and then wander over to skin it - you’ll need to use hunting weapons, bows crossbows and sniper rifles, to avoid destroying its valuable bits and pieces.
Rounding things off is a look at the weapon customisation, which seems a little more in-depth than it was in Far Cry 3. There are three modifications slots for each item; scopes, barrels and magazines, as well as several paint-jobs to choose from. With a tonne of weapons in the game (we don’t have an exact number yet, but… lots) there should be plenty of opportunities so craft your ideal gun.
Thanks to VG247 and Westie for the footage. Far Cry 4 is out this November 14 on PC and consoles.
