An Afro Samurai sequel is in development at Redacted Studios, and will be released on current-gen consoles and PC.
The previous game, released back in 2009, was based on the five episode anime starring Samuel L. Jackson as the titular traveling swordsman. It also wasn't very good. This one's from a new team, and promises "an original storyline, new playable characters, and improved special moves and combos which firmly establishes the franchise as the undisputed leader in dynamic dismemberment."
Apart from the fact it's set in the same universe, there doesn't appear to be any link between the new game and the previous one. More information as we get it.
