Everyone who’s ever played Payday 2 knows that the best laid plans for the perfect heist generally fall to pieces a few minutes after you start a level, but in tomorrow’s free update, The Shadow Raid Heist, panicking and setting your guns a-blazing won’t be an option.
It’s the game’s first stealth only job. If you are spotted at any point an alarm will sound, and you’ll have only 60 seconds to finish up and get out of there.
The target is a warehouse belonging to the Murkywater Coporation PMC, and there’s a few different prizes you can aim for depending on your level of skill/ brazen idiocy, from easier to get loot in shipping containers outside the complex, to a secure vault which contains the serious goodies.
Expect new achievements, a new mask and, I would imagine, lots of frustration. Alongside the free update, which should automatically download via Steam tomorrow, Payday 2 is free to try out on Valve’s service from May 29 to June 2. In case that’s not enough, you can grab the game for 67% off its full retail price during that time.
Sounds like a good time to grab your mask and your gun and go shopping.
