Fans of The Elder Scrolls Online (I know there’s some out there) might want to find something else to do today. The European megaserver migration Zenimax promised earlier this year will take place from 1:00PM BST until 10:00PM BST today.
During the process European players will be unable to log in to the server. The North American server will obviously not be affected.
Once everything’s been shifted over Bethesda say you’ll be able to jump straight back in without the need for any patches or updates. As for the reason why it’s taking place in primetime hours, the publisher calls the server move ”a complex operation” which requires everybody to be ”awake, ready, and available”.
Bethesda do also point out that there’s to be no migration from North American servers over to the new Frankfurt service; if you’re a European on the North American servers who wants to take the opportunity to shift back over, you’re out of luck. ”The migration will only affect characters that already exist on the European megaserver, and no transfers are available right now,” the publisher confirms.
Sorry everyone, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to resume carving up mudcrabs and daedra. But yea! See below the new Frankfurt megaserver in all its glory - a factory of dreams.
