Epic Games sure want us to know they’re having fun with the new Unreal Tournament - they’ve released another behind the scenes video which shows the team playing a deathmatch game.
You can see a little more than last time, but it’s still a bit of a tease. Look, though! It’s the trusty old Shock Rifle in shiny modern form.
There’s no map textures yet (which makes the whole thing look a bit like a deathmatch version of Portal), but it’s lovely to see Epic go back to the classic arena shooter rather than another boring modern day Call of Duty clone. How I’ve missed you, ‘multikill’.
In between frags the team also reveal a few nuggets of information about the game’s development. ”We’ve implemented pretty much all of the weapons so far,” says senior designer Nick Donaldson, ”We have a couple of really cool levels and we have DM working.”
There’s still no release date set for Unreal Tournament, but it looks like it’s coming along nicely.
