Hideo Kojima would love to see a modern remake of his classic stealth game Metal Gear Solid, according to an interview with Japanese games mag Famitsu.
Talking at the Taipei Game Show, Kojima said that he'd like to see more than just the 'Classic Snake' DLC for Ground Zeroes (only available on PlayStation consoles), but his work on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5 means that any potential project is a long way off.
It's the concept of remaking the original and classic 1998 Metal Gear Solid and its beautifully designed Shadow Moses base in Ground Zeroes' open-world style that most intrigues designer Kojima. It's already been remade once of course, but Kojima didn't have a direct hand in Silicon Knights's GameCube interpretation, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
Kojima says no-one's yet approached him about a remake. Come on developers of the world, imagine how great the Sniper Wolf boss fight would be in a proper open world sandbox.
