*UPDATED* Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain release date confirmed, Collector's Edition includes bionic arm

UPDATE It turns out that us PC gamers might have to wait a little longer than our console cousins to get our hands on The Phantom Pain. According to the Konami site, the Steam version of the game will actually drop two weeks after the PS4/Xbox One edition, on September 15. Eurogamer reached out to Konami for a response on this delay, but the publisher refused to comment. Which isn’t usually a good sign. Fingers crossed that the PC edition’s release doesn’t slip further back. We’ll keep an eye out for an official response from Konami.

Not a real bionic arm, obviously. Splash out $99 on the Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Collector’s Edition and you’ll net a bunch of goodies including a half-scale replica of Snake’s bionic arm (essential), a behind-the-scenes documentary, a steel-book case, a map, and the game’s various trailers on BluRay, along with some unique in-game items.

Konami also confirmed The Phantom Pain’s September 1 release date, to nobody’s surprise, and revealed a Day One Edition that packs in a more modest collection of pre-order bonuses.

To go over every single piece of in-game content that’s reserved for pre-order customers would take a long time and cost me far too many minutes of my rapidly dwindling lifespan, but suffice to say there’s weapons, ballistic shield camos, outfits and yes, even limited edition cardboard boxes.
