Chaos Reborn, the wizard versus wizard battler from XCOM creator and hallowed demi-lord of strategy games Julian Gollop, has just received a big Early Access update.
Said update will allow budding wizards to gain ”greater control over their spells and wizardly abilities”, adding gold and experience point awards for players after each battle, and a truckload of new stat-enhancing gear to spend them on.
The items you can buy are separated into staffs, bodygear and talismans. Staffs and bodygear come in several flavours, buffing whatever wizarding skills you decide to focus on. Talismans slot into those items, giving various additional abilities to the caster. Examples include:
Telemount - Teleport instantly to summoned mounts, such as a Pegasus, Unicorn, Elephant or Manticore.
Dodge - Dodge any blow by retreating - as long as there is a space to retreat
Dark Side - Become invulnerable to non-magical attacks, also known as the ‘undead’ attribute.
Blobify - Turn magic trees / shadow woods into gooey blobs
