Back in March of this year, Magicka developer Arrowhead Game Studios released HELLDIVERS onto PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. The game gained success on the system for it’s addictive and hardcore aesthetics, and now it’s coming to Steam in December.
HELLDIVERS is a twin-stick shooter that might be best described as Gauntlet Legends meets Starship Troopers. Watch the trailer below and you’ll see. Players take on one of the four soldiers in the HELLDIVERS unit to take on an endless stream of enemies in intergalactic war.
You can go it alone or bring up your buddies with you, but beware. Everything, including your friends and your support will kill you at even a moment of carelessness. The game will come with all of the campaign, non-linear mission play, and upgrades of the core experience, along with the Masters Of The Galaxy, Turning Up The Heat and Democracy Strikes Back expansions for more challenges and firepower.
No prices are listed on Steam yet, but the SUPER-EARTH ULTIMATE EDITION for PS4 which includes most of what’s listed on the Steam page is listed at $39.99 in the PS Store, so that might be expected on PC. A sale wouldn’t be out of the ordinary at launch. A multi-pack of the game to share with friends would be nifty as well, as this is a game that really plays great with a few pals.
If you don’t have a PS4 and you have a burning desire to spread high-velocity diplomacy throughout the galaxy, grab a few friends and get ready to treat yourself to this one come December.
