UK physical sales of Techland’s Dying Light are higher than both Turtle Rock’s Evolve and PS4 shooter The Order: 1886, despite the game launching on digital last month and only releasing on disc last week.
It seems like the Polish studio has mastered its open-world zombie formula after a few decent but rather repetitive efforts - this is the second week that the game’s spent at number one.
According to trade group UKIE, Dying Light retains the spot despite a 48% fall in sales. That basically means its success is partly down to continuing solid performance, and partly down to unremarkable opening sales for fellow new IPs Evolve and the highly anticipated The Order, which hover in 9th and 7th position respectively. Elsewhere, Rebellion’s Zombie Army Trilogy comes in at number eight. Here’s the full top ten:
