Visceral Games VP Steve Papoutsis, whose work includes Dead Space and the recent Battlefield Hardline, has left the EA-owned company after fifteen years.
The story was initially reported by [url=

"We are thankful for Steve's many contributions to EA and wish him the best," the publisher writes. "The Visceral team continues to be focused on new game content for Battlefield Hardline including expansion packs, as well as new development projects."
After working as the executive director on Dead Space, Papoutsis went on to have a major hand in all three main entries in the horror series, which really made Visceral's name. He was also general manager and executive producer on Battlefield Hardline.
Taking over at Visceral is Scott Probst, a senior producer on Hardline and someone who's worked closely with Papoutsis in the past. As for the reason behind Papoutsis' depature, that remains unclear. Might it have had something to do with the lukewarm critical reception Hardline received? We'll keep an eye out for any further information.
