SEGA, Creative Assembly and Relic are ready to kick off this year’s ‘Make War Not Love’ community competition, pitting the Total War and Company of Heroes strategy buffs against one another for the corporate-mandated Valentine’s Day.
Every in-game victory achieved in ”consecutive three hour rounds” will be tallied, with the most won rounds earning players of that respective game free DLC.
”We beat them last year. We’ll beat them again,” Said Cynthia Griffiths, Associate Community Manager for Company of Heroes 2, ”we’re confident that spears and shields will continue to be no match for our heavy artillery and automatic weapons. To arms! ”
“We’ve met in the war room and our plans for domination are almost complete,” said Craig Laycock, Lead Community Manager for Total War. “Our plans are dark and impenetrable as night, and when we move we will fall like a thunderbolt. We will show Relic the true Art of War.”
The battle lines are drawn and guns and siege equipment starts firing tomorrow, February 12th @ 18:00GMT/10:00PST. A ceasefire will be called February 15th @ 18:00GMT/10:00PST where the dead will be counted, and the DLC riches will flow. Both Total War: Rome II and Company of Heroes 2 will be freely playable this weekend to celebrate the second annual showdown.
Company of Heroes 2 players could win premium skins and commanders worth around $20, while Total War: Rome II players are teased with the Black Sea Colonies Culture Pack, and a ‘free day’ of ATTILA’s Longbeards Culture Pack when it launches later this month.
More information about Make War Not Love will be available on the website.
