Colossal Order revealed the first expansion pack for its warmly received city-builder Cities: Skylines at Gamescom earlier in the month, and according to the team we should expect plenty of similar content over the course of the game’s life.Publisher Paradox is looking at replicating the same DLC cycle as its other flagship games.
”We’re going to work with the same strategy as Europa Universalis and Crusader Kings,” brand manager Jakob Munthe explained to PC Gamer. ”When we release the expansion, we’re also going to release a major patch with free content.”
”What we won’t do, unlike CK2 or EU4, is content as graphic assets DLCs,” he added. ”We’re so much made by our modding community that it doesn’t make sense for us to charge for it.”
Although Munthe says new music packs are an option, for the most part you should expect major mechanical changes, such as the day/night cycle to be added in the game’s upcoming After Dark expansion.
