Firewatch looks like a very intriguing game, a first-person tale that casts you as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness, whose only companion is the voice on the other end of a radio.
There's more to it than that, of course, but developer Campo Santo - a team comprised of veteran developers behind such games as BioShock 2 and The Walking Dead: Season One - understandably doesn't want to spoil anything just yet. The studio has just revealed a February 9, 2016 release date for the game, and says it will start to reveal a little more during the build-up to launch.
"Right now we’re still polishing, optimizing, writing, and developing the last bits of the game, but we can’t wait to put it out there for you to play," writes the team.
As you can see from the announcement trailer below, and some new screenshots that Campo Santo has just released, Firewatch looks kind of like a exploration-focused Team Fortress 2. In a good way.
