Square Enix and developer Psyonix will be bringing their free-to-play team-based competitive shooter Nosgoth into Open Beta next week, January 21st. It’s ‘welcome to all skill levels’ they say.
Nosgoth chooses ”sidegrades rather than upgrades,” keep things on a level playing field. The Vampire faction is melee-based, whereas the Humans prefer to keep things ranged.
”Thanks to our highly dedicated and very passionate community, we’ve had an amazing journey so far,” said game director Corey Davis. ”Our goal for the Open Beta is to deliver a fun and engrossing metagame and we realize that working closely with our community is the best way for us to balance and deepen the experience going forward. We are thrilled to see what the future brings!”
Each faction - Vampire or Human - have very different play styles with the human hunters better off sticking in groups to ‘win by attrition’, whereas the Vampires are fast and agile with the ability to scale buildings and even fly, and they can feed off human enemies to heal. No, they don’t ‘sparkle’.
Nosgoth releases into Open Beta January 21st. It’s based in the Legacy of Kain universe.
