MOBAs like Dota 2 or League of Legends certainly depend upon a level of cooperation and synergy in order for a team to succeed, but the newest playable character in Heroes of the Storm takes it to a whole new level. Cho’Gall is controlled by two players at once.
Revealed at Blizzcon 2015, Cho’Gall is a two headed ogre that shakes up the battlefield as a sort of melee bruiser/mage combo where one player chooses to play Cho and another player takes up Gall. Cho controls movement and has access to melee attacks and abilities where Gall can tap powerful magic abilities and area-of-effect spells. More information was dropped today in a spotlight on the character.
There’s a definite double-edged sword about the character. It certainly has all the towers to get the job done, but it can just as easily be undone by two players that can’t handle the coordination it takes to run the champ properly. What’s worse, Cho’Gall takes up two spots on a team, making it 4vs.5 and counts as two kills for any enemy that brings him down. Players definitely need to make sure they’re on the same page before they jump into the skin of this technically complex brute.
Cho’Gall was given as a gift to Blizzcon attendees. As of now, the only way to get Cho’Gall is to partner up with someone who has it and win two games as one of the heads, or to be gifted the hero by someone who already has it and wins a few games to collect gold for the gifting.
