The Founder’s Edition of Stardock and Oxide’s sci-fi RTS Ashes of the Singularity is available now, offering immediate access to the game’s Alpha, plus access to ”exclusive concept art, wallpapers, music and more.”
Ashes of the Singularity is a grand-scale strategy game in the style of Supreme Commander, in which you can take thousands of units into battle. It’s being built on the custom Nitrous engine, which is designed to squeeze every last drop of performance from your creaking rig. The current Alpha offers a chance for the development team to test and refine, so founders shouldn’t expect a polished experience.
”During the Alpha we promise that players will run into crashes, bugs and game balance issues at this early stage of development,” the team writes, ”but this is a great opportunity for our founders to experience an RTS of massive scale while helping us shape the game. This is the first time Ashes of the Singularity will be playable outside of our development environment. We want to see how the engine is working and start building a core community of hardcore RTS players to work with us as we begin to implement proper balance, UI, hardware compatibility and more.”
The Founder’s Edition will set you back $44.99, and you can opt for the Founder’s Lifetime Edition, which will unlock access to all future expansions and DLC for the game, for another $55.00 on top. The system requirements are pretty heavy, so make sure you match up before spending any cash.
All codes will be delivered through Steam. The Alpha itself should be up and running now.
