While the ‘big news’ might be cross-platform play between PC and Xbox One Fable Legends players right now out of the Microsoft Redmond HQ, they’ve also let slip a muted line on a blog that it’s ‘just the first’.
In fact they state it’s ”just the first of the major game franchises” from their Microsoft Studios outfit to focus on PC as well as Xbox. They’ll have ”more to share in the coming months,” they continued.
”…we announced that we are bringing Fable Legends to Windows 10 PCs, day-and-date with the Xbox One version in 2015. This means Fable fans running Windows 10 will be able to play against their fellow gamers on Xbox One. It’s the same game, in the same world, on the same map,” read the blog.
”Fable Legends is just the first of the major game franchises from Microsoft Studios coming to Windows 10 and we will have more to share in the coming months.”
Whether these ‘major franchises’ will come with the requirement of Windows 10 remains unknown, but you can be certain they’ll emphasis very heavily that they should. Halo is the obviously likely candidate, but would it support cross-platform multiplayer?
