The Rise of the Tomb Raider demo that developer Crystal Dynamics showed off at Gamescom earlier this month was a little bit... stabby.
In response to fans who wondered if there was a way for Lara to enjoy the thrill of her latest archaeological expedition without knifing two hundred henchmen in the back, the team's released a second, stealth-focused walkthrough video.
“After GamesCom, some fans asked whether it was possible to play “Advancing Storm” with less enemy engagement,” writes CD. “Rise of the Tomb Raider’s expanded combat system centers on player choice, and provides Lara with even more skills, for a spectrum of strategies ranging from stealth to aggression. This alternate playthrough demonstrates a completely non-lethal approach.”
It actually looks fairly decent played as a straight stealth game, though I'm not sure there's going to be enough depth to the mechanics to persuade players to abandon combat completely.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will be released on Xbox consoles this November 10, with a PC release planned for early 2016.
