Life's not always easy for gruff mercenary Snake, and some new screenshots released from Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain suggest it's not going to get any easier in the forthcoming stealth game.
Series creator Hideo Kojima tweeted three separate images of the mercenary in his transport chopper, liberally sprayed with blood.
It's not quite clear why Kojima's focused on a blood-covered Snake. Maybe he just likes the gore effects, which to be fair do look appropriately gruesome. The designer tweeted the final image (bottom right) along with the words; "Had changed my buddy from DD to Quiet. She still keeps herself at a distance."
Does that suggest you can swap out who comes along in the chopper with you for each mission? Hmm. We're still waiting for an official release date for The Phantom Pain, though we know it's out sometime this year.
