After the success of the excellent Resident Evil HD Remaster earlier this year, it’s not that surprising to see Capcom announce a similar remake of prequel Resident Evil Zero.
The remaster is being handled by a team that includes several of the original developers, including director Koji Oda, and is expected to release in early 2016 for PC and consoles.
Resident Evil Zero, released way back in 2002 (oh god, I’m old), told the story of STARS team medic Rebecca Chambers, in the hours before the infamous mansion incident. She teams up with convict Billy Coen for a typically nuts survival horror adventure that hints at the origins of the T-Virus, and contains oodles of leeches. Including one of my all-time least favorite Resi enemies, the Leech Zombie.
The release of the remaster will mark the first time Zero has been available outside Nintendo consoles. Hey Capcom, do Dino Crisis 2 next, OK?
