It might not have been the biggest news of the year, butreturn to Tribes: Ascend after over two years in hiatus was certainly one of the most surprising. A new patch is currently up on the game's Public Test Server, and is expected to roll out in full at some point soon.
As it turns out, Hi-Rez did feel a bit guilty about abandoning the multiplayer shooter in favour of working on its third-person MOBA Smite.
"None of us felt good about the state it was left in," Hi-Rez president Stewart Chisam admittedHe went on to say that the team is glad that it "finally got the chance" to return to the game, after the success of Smite.
"(Hi-Rez has) four or five people working on Tribes full time, and I'd love to keep that team around for a while," said Chisam. "It's starting to feel more like the old Tribes games."
