Creative Assembly might not be working on a follow-up to Space Marine, but another developer is taking a chainsword-wielding stab at a Warhammer 40,000 shooter. Titled Space Hulk: Deathwing, it’s gotten a new trailer showing off the titular Deathwing squad holding a last stand against a horde of oncoming foes.
Space Hulk: Deathwing will feature a full campaign playable in single-player or two-player co-op flavors, telling the tale of a team of Dark Angels Terminators looking to wipe out a Genestealer threat among a cluster of war-ravaged debris and derelict ships known as Space Hulk Olethros.
You can customize both your own Terminator and your squad with a variety of skills to learn and level up, and change up both your melee and ranged weapons to suit the situation. You’ve got some tactical options in combat, as well, as you can command your squad to hold specific points, hack doors, and provide covering fire.
The developers at Streum On Studio were previously responsible for the bizarre Deus Ex-like, E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy, so they’ve definitely created something unique and memorable before. Hopefully they can do the same with Space Hulk: Deathwing, due out this November on PC.
